MonQueST ordering and administration

Ordering

Please note: If you have not received the questionnaires a week before the date of the evaluation please contact Evaluations immediately on 55143.

The process of obtaining a MonQueST evaluation is as follows:

  • Complete a MonQueST evaluation request form
  • MonQueST questionnaires are sent by CHEQ to the requesting teacher/contact person(s)
  • At least two weeks notice is required prior to the date of evaluation
  • Follow the guidelines for administration so as to maintain the confidentiality of the data.  (Note: you are not allowed to administer the survey yourself and you should not be present while the surveys are administered)

CHEQ do not edit comments.  Such comments are made in confidence and must be treated confidentially by the staff member who receives them.

Administration

The credibility of student evaluation of teaching depends to a large degree on the integrity of the process by which data is collected. CHEQ has developed these guidelines to help in maintaining data integrity. MonQueST student evaluation of teaching questionnaires must be distributed and collected by a person other than the person being evaluated. The administrator could be:

If questionnaires are distributed and collected by the individual requesting the evaluation, such evaluations may be invalid for use in promotions or similar processes.

Paper Administration

If you wish to distribute the paper version of the questionnaire to your students the process is as follows:

  • Complete your MonQueST request form  
  • MonQueST questionnaires are sent by CHEQ to the requesting teacher/contact person(s), along with a return envelope for completed forms.
  • The requesting teacher/contact person(s) arranges an independent person to administer the survey in class.
  • Students complete surveys in class.
  • The administrator signs the back of the envelope provided and returns the surveys via internal mail to CHEQ for further processing.
  • CHEQ staff will email report in PDF format.

Online Administration

If you wish to distribute the questionnaire to your students online then you need to:

  • Indicate this preference on the Request Form
  • CHEQ requires two weeks notice to set up the online questionnaire
  • Once your order has been processed CHEQ will supply you with a URL to access the survey. You need to supply this to your students - this could be by email, given to your students in class, posted on MUSO etc.
  • Surveys are usually open for a two week period. If you want longer, or want to extend the end-date once the survey has started, please contact CHEQ
  • CHEQ staff will email report in PDF format.
